Dr. Duffuor’s plans to develop NDC into a Powerful Business-Oriented Political Party

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has an ambitious vision for the future of the party. If elected as the flagbearer and subsequently winning the 2024 elections, he plans to push an agenda of building a strong business-oriented political party.

During his campaign tour to the Bono Region, emphasized the importance of re-directing the party’s focus on businesses and investment by exploring opportunities in the mining, banking, insurance, and oil sectors. He believes that the party should buy shares in companies to support its structures, activities, and members, particularly those at the grassroots.

Dr Duffuor also highlighted the importance of empowering women in the party. He urged constituency executives to allocate 60 per cent of funds from the Ahotor Project to women for capacity building, entrepreneurial training, and skills development, as he believes that making capital accessible to them will enhance their economic empowerment.

He also plans to scale up the activities of the Women and Children’s Ministry by resourcing it and building the ministry to empower women, particularly those in dire need of socio-economic support. Additionally, Dr Duffuor plans to appoint delegates in every constituency to act as presidential staffers who would be closer to government to make a meaningful impact on governance on the populace.

According to Dr Duffuor, a country cannot be developed without being informed about what is going on in the localities. He implored delegates to vote massively for him to become the flagbearer in the May 13 primaries to help wrest power from the New Patriotic Party.

Dr. Duffuor’s plans for the NDC are commendable and show his dedication to building a stronger and more business-oriented party. His emphasis on empowering women and investing in local businesses is particularly noteworthy, as it shows his commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society.

If Dr. Duffuor is elected as the flagbearer and subsequently wins the 2024 elections, his plans for the NDC will undoubtedly help the party to become a powerful force in Ghanaian politics. By focusing on businesses and investment, as well as empowering women and investing in local communities, the NDC will be able to create a more prosperous and just society for all Ghanaians.
